CORONAVIRUS COURT UPDATE

Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Harold Melton extended the Statewide Judicial Emergency through September 10, 2020.
The Magistrate Court will publish its Guidance as to when and how Court operations will commence, following assessments and consultation with Public Health officials. This Guidance affects the following calendars: Landlord-Tenant (Dispossessory), Small Claims, Abandoned Motor Vehicles, Child Abandonment, Warrant Applications, Garnishment, Environment, Copy of Charges, Personal Property Foreclosures, Trover, Post-Judgement Hearings, and Misdemeanor Mental Health Court jail. Wedding Ceremonies handled through Magistrate Court are suspended until further notice.

Out of an abundance of caution, Chief Magistrate Judge Cassandra Kirk has ordered to vacate all Landlord-Tenant in-person hearings scheduled in the limited Order of Business during the Judicial Emergency.
