Judge Brandy Brooks is the founder of The Brooks Firm, a boutique criminal defense and personal injury law firm in Atlanta, Georgia born out of a desire to help people in their time of need and in an effort to practice and promote client-centered representation. Client-centered representation is listening to the client’s story and telling the story as co-directed by the client. This helps Brandy build a better rapport with her clients, provides increased communication with the clients, and paves the way to a higher level of trust between Brandy and her clients.
Brandy is a former military brat and was born in Germany. Brandy and her family settled in Atlanta, Georgia in 1990 and she went on to attend Oxford College of Emory University and the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. She graduated from these respected schools with an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts (1999) and a Bachelor of Business Degree with concentrations in Consulting and Business Communication (2002). Brandy is also a graduate of Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. She received her Juris Doctor in September 2006 and was admitted to the Georgia Bar in June 2007.Upon obtaining her Juris Doctorate, she immediately began her career as a criminal Defense Attorney with the Atlanta Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office. While at the Public Defender’s Office, Brandy obtained immeasurable experience in courtroom procedure, trial preparation, and trial experience. Her clients were charged with major felonies including murder, rape, armed robbery and drugs. These cases were successfully argued in front of juries. After over a decade of public interest work and servicing the community, Brandy joined the world of private practice and opened the doors of The Brooks Firm on January 1, 2018.
When she has time for herself, Brandy likes to watch football and basketball, travel to the warmer and more tropical parts of the world, and spend time making great memories with family and friends.
