Judge Elizabeth Anne George was appointed to the Fulton County Magistrate court as a part-time judge on December 28, 2020.  She brings with her 15 years of both criminal and civil litigation experience.  Judge George began her career representing consumers in bankruptcy proceedings in the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia.  She transitioned to a practice representing banks and mortgage companies in real estate, bankruptcy, foreclosure, eviction and general civil litigation.    

In 2012, Judge George joined her husband in private practice at their firm, the Shah Law Firm, specializing in criminal defense, personal injury and civil litigation. Judge George is currently the managing partner of the Shah Law Firm.

In addition to her traditional law practice, Judge George has been an adjunct professor at her alma matter, teaching winter break term courses on jury selection, cross examination, direct examination, opening and closing statements and negotiations.

Judge George and her husband co-author three pocket books on Georgia law – The Code: Criminal, Civil and Evidence Editions, through the legal education and publication company[PS1] , MyCLE.

Judge George earned her Juris Doctorate from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law in 2006, with distinction. She obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Finance from Waynesburg University, with honors, as well.

Judge George is active in her community, serving as the Secretary to the Board of Directors for Nicholas House, and Chair of the Resource Development Committee as a Board Director to Side by Side Brain Injury Clubhouse. Judge George enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, baking, and all things fitness, particularly running and hiking in the mountains.
