Vera June Starks has extensive experience as a civil attorney. She began her career in Florida where she was the first African-American litigation associate for the largest firm in Seminole County. As a litigation associate, she practiced in various areas of law including real estate, contracts, landlord/tenant and probate litigation. In 2009, she opened up her own practice and continued representing the citizens of the State of Florida in both state and federal court. In 2012, she moved from Florida to Atlanta, and became Georgia barred in 2013. During her time here in Georgia, she has continued providing quality representation in the areas of civil litigation, probate, civil rights and personal injury and wrongful death. Judge Starks has been active in numerous legal bar associations but including the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys where she has held various leadership positions.
Judge Starks received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the Honors College of the University of Houston in Houston, Texas and her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida.
