Judge Millender began her career as an Assistant Solicitor for the City Court of Atlanta, where she first gained jury trial experience. After leaving the Solicitor’s Office, Judge Millender joined the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, where she served for six years as an Assistant District Attorney. During her tenure in the District Attorney’s Office, Judge Millender was lead trial counsel on various matters, most notably specializing in homicide and high-profile cases. A number of her cases garnered media attention.

In 2007, Judge Millender joined Thomas Kennedy Sampson & Tompkins LLP. As a Senior Associate for the firm, Judge Millender handled a variety of matters including wrongful death, personal injury, medical malpractice, insurance defense, premises liability and contractual relations. Additionally, Judge Millender supervised and managed the work of junior associates.

In addition to her professional obligations, Judge Millender devotes considerable time to community and Bar-related activities. She is a Past President of the Gate City Bar Association. Judge Millender is a member of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys and the Atlanta Bar Association. She is a past Chair of the Atlanta Board of Ethics and sits on the Board of the Arthur Blank Family Youth YMCA. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Judge Millender’s honors include being selected by the National Bar Association and IMPACT as one of the nation’s best advocates: 40 under 40 in 2010; and one of only fifteen lawyers selected by the Fulton County Daily Report as a lawyer “On the Rise” in 2007. Her outstanding service to the Pro Bono Project was recognized by the State Bar of Georgia in 2008 and she was given the Meritorious Award for Ongoing Service to the Young Lawyer’s Division of the National Bar Association in 2011.

Judge Millender is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Georgia, Georgia Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Georgia. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Clark Atlanta University and is a graduate of the Georgia State University College of Law.
